Interview : MajikGeek!

In the final August interview, I ask questions to long time simmer and the founder of "TS3 Cribs!" - Yes! It's MajikGeek! I interview him on The Sims 4, his show and more!

1. So can you tell us how you've got into The Sims franchise?
I use to go to my dads for the summer and one summer when I was about 9, I went to my dads and my sisters were playing The Sims. They taught me how to play and I've been in love ever since :D It just pulls you in. Simming is an addiction. I am a simoholic and I have been for 13 years.

2. Are you excited for The Sims 4?
I have mixed emotions about it. I feel like they may have dumbed it down a little. I'm excited, but I'm worried that it won't be as good as we all expected. I will buy it and do Let's Plays though.

3. What new feature would you love to see in The Sims 4?
I know it won't be in TS4, but I really wanted each individual sim to have their own amount of simoleons instead of one big lump sum. So, children could do chores for money, get money for good grades, etc. And ZOO'S! PLEASE EA, PLEASE! haha.

4. What do you make of the new emotions system in the next base game?
I think it's amazing how every little thing effects the sim in different ways. I like how paintings effect the mood, not just the "environment". And the poor food, healthy food thing is awesome, because you know if a sim gets too obese they may become depressed. Fascinating right?? I'm excited to have one crazy bipolar sim :D

5. You make TS3 Cribs, where did the idea come across?
I do indeed! I'm friends with the creator of The Simwives of Starlight Shores and I seen how much fun he was having making a series. I feel like just making LP's puts you in a small box. One night I was watching HGTV and saw a series where they just show off the house, than people bid on it. Now while I wouldn't want people to "bid" on these house, my mind went to MTV Cribs. And it hit me! I could just tour houses, talk a bit, and help builders out a little more in the process. I believe they deserve so much more recognition than they truly get. So thus my baby was born!

6. Do you find it hard choosing houses to showcase?
*sigh* it's so difficult. A lot of gorgeous cribs and I can only show so many. It's definitely a struggle to choose which houses will make it into an episode and which ones I have to pass on for now or for good.

7. If you could create the first expansion (old or new) for The Sims 4, what would it be?
I think Open for Business needs a HUGE come back. I think that'll be a great way to set the sims off. Also weather, because weather can affect the sims moods so much more now. Rather than just too hot or too cold. I'd be happy with either one. I'm really hoping for a zoo in TS4. I love animals, I'd love to see monkeys, lions, bears, elephants, etc. Maybe make a zoologist and veterinarian career. That'd be perfect.

8. Are you looking forward to Into The Future and Movie Stuff?
Into the Future? Most definitely. I'm excited to make an LP on it. Travel into the three different futures. OWN A FREAKIN' ROBOT! I think that's what I'm excited for the most haha. Should be interesting. I am, however, not that excited for Movie Stuff. I don't even know if I'll buy it right away.

9. Do you prefer store content or content from stuff packs?
Ohhh, this is so tough. I like both! Store content is just a little over priced. But I'd buy a stuff pack over a new set any day. I love adding to my collection!

10. What can we expect in future episodes of TS3 Cribs?
I'm hoping to get better and better with my graphics, commentary, and pick up some new editing styles. I may be switching my time from 12:00PM to 5:00 or 6:00PM, because I'm returning to college and everyone else is going back to school. I'd like to make it more convenient for them and myself. Also, I have something HUGE planned for the season one finale on November 15th! So I hope everyone stays tuned! If anyone would like to submit a house they can go majiksim.tumblr.com for submission rules :D

11. Finally! Can you tell us if there will be a TS4 Cribs?
IF they give these builders the tools they need to make the houses they make now or better, there will be a TS4 Cribs. IF they hold back and do not give the builders the tools they need to make the amazing houses they make now, unfortunately  there will be no TS4 Cribs. Just keep an eye out a few weeks after TS4 is released and we see what it is all about in build mode.

Stay Golden,
Majik~

Ryan Vaughan on Content Sharing for The Sims 4

Producer Ryan Vaughan talked to videogamer.com on the future of content sharing in The Sims 4.

Maxis is integrating a digital platform into The Sims 4 that will allow players to upload and share content with other users, the developer has told VideoGamer.com.

Talking about the idea of developing a platform similar to Diablo 3's Auction House within The Sims 4, where players could share - and possibly even sell - their designs and lots, producer Ryan Vaughan revealed that it was "definitely" part of Maxis' plans.

"Unfortunately we're not going into too much detail on the sharing right now, but we are working on a way to bring all of that community, all of that sharing and connecting with people across the world into the game.

"In The Sims 3, you were doing a lot of it through the Sims website – you could upload creations and stuff. We're bringing all of that and making the experience in the game so people are able to connect with other people and grab somebody else's house and try it out in their own lot. We have a lot more detail to get into in the next few months but it's definitely a big part of what we're working on."

Vaughan wouldn't confirm whether players would be able to sell their designs, however, or whether everything will be shared for free.

"We're still working on that," he continues, "but the community for us is a really big part, we love all the creativity. Whenever we launch a game, the most exciting part is seeing how people play with it and share their creations, so it's definitely something we're focussed on."

Though players will be able to share Sims 4 content with other users, they won't be able to import their existing Sims 3 families or content.

"We have brand new technology driving the game so unfortunately none of that carries over," Vaughan said. "Especially with the new tools: It's a whole new way of building your Sims and building your families so it doesn't carry over."

Interview : KPOPP! (+ Giveaway Notice!)

(Kelly) KPOPP is one of the biggest simmers and gamers out there! After recently hitting three-hundred thousand subscribers she has only gotten better and better! From her dating simulator episodes to her recent Sims Hunger Games series, she has entertained for years now and I had the super opportunity to interview her!

1. So your pregnant challenge series was a start to The Sims on you channel, are you amazed by how much people love your Sims videos?
Yes, it has been really amazing.  I’ve played the Sims since I was 10 years old and the first game came out!  Fast-Forward and I am making video game videos on YouTube.  One day I was playing the Sims and I was so confused on why I had not uploaded my Sims adventures to YouTube.   I had to remedy the situation!  I had always done crazy things like the Pregnant Challenge when playing before.  Especially when I was a teenager.  I’d start by making myself and a boyfriend that I had at the time.  Maybe it was because I found most of the boyfriends I had in high school dull but my Sim would always wander off into the neighborhood and flirt.  It would end with her having dozens of babies by various men in the town.  I found it so entertaining then and knew it might make a funny YouTube series now.  I mean, if I want to have a normal relationship, family, grow old, etc…. I can do that in my own life, right?  Might as well make my Sims a bit taboo.

2. Now we know Kelly KPOPP (the original baby maker) is your favourite sim you've made, but out of her children, who would be your favourite? (Of course it has to be the golden child right? ;D)
UGHHH, I hate the name… but Anorexia is my favorite child.  Vaggy Sunshine has the best name.  Anorexia has always made me laugh the most though.  Her Sim has the oddest traits that just make her so entertaining to watch and interact with.  Now, if we can figure out why she was ever named Anorexia in the first place that would be great.  Not sure what I was thinking, it was spur of the moment.  Eating disorders are really interesting to me and I don’t find them a joking matter.  But what is done is done, I couldn’t imagine her being named anything else!  I think she is secretly everyone’s favorite anyways.

3. How did you come across the idea of making a Sims Hunger Games?
I was reading the second book of the Hunger Games trilogy and it just kind of hit me.  I knew it would be a lot of fun.  I just had to figure out how to make a Sims 3 interpretation of it.  A lot of times when people come to the series they are expecting it to be exactly like the Hunger Games in the books/movies.  Clearly, that would be difficult to do on the Sims.  I enjoy the fact that my Sims Hunger Games is based more off of luck and chance for the most part.  I let the Sims have their free-will and very rarely control them unless it is challenge time or something else important.  The series just makes me laugh so hard.  It is always really fun to rewatch what happened when I am in the editing process.  I am really glad people seem to be enjoying it as much as me.

4. Who has been your favourite Sims hunger games contestant from either of the two seasons?
I think Katniss was probably the best.  The moment where she stole and hid the pizza from the other contestants was so perfect and hilarious.  Then again, Amanda Bynes and Paula Deen had some epic moments on the Hunger Games too… It is so hard to choose!  I love them all!  Except Fairy Bieber.  Not because I have any sort of issue with Justin Bieber, but because the Sim just did not last long enough!  We barely got to know him!

5. Are you excited for The Sims 4?
Yes!  I would have preferred a less “cartoonish” look and more realistic.  However, I can’t imagine having high-end graphics with the Sims would be easy.  There is so much running on game all at once that I just do not think they could possibly up the graphics too much without taking a lot out of the game.

6. If you could create a whole new expansion for The Sims 4, what would it be?
Maybe post-apocalyptic Sims would be pretty cool!  They would actually have to survive.  I’d also love something like combining Rollercoaster Tycoon/Zoo Tycoon and the Sims together.  Now that would be awesome!

7. Can you tell us more about the PC game "Nether"!?
It is a post-apocalyptic survival-horror MMO with early access coming this fall.  I’m glad to be a part of the Nether team, especially the one who gets to work with the community!  Now, I can’t talk too much about the game as we are still in early reveal stages.  But, I have played it and it will be awesome!

8. Have you ever thought about making Grace and Trip on The Sims and killing them in a torturous death? *Evil Laugh*
A viewer recently made me Grace and Trip and gave me permission to use in a video.  I’m not sure when I will get to the video, but I hope to sometime in the next 20 days.  I want to make something silly with them.  I’ve been considering making Sims mini-series based off of some of the other game series I have!  I have a whole bunch of ideas for Sims series actually… hopefully one day soon I get to some of them and stop procrastinating!

9. You channel recently hit 300 000 subscribers, how have you reacted to your amazing achievements with YouTube?
It is a little strange.  I remember jumping for joy and freaking out when I got my first subscriber.  Everything after that has been awesome, but I haven’t freaked out quite as much!  I’m just really happy because I love interacting with the people who watch my videos.  I love replying to comments and messages when I can.  It sucks because I get so many.  There was a time when I would reply to every comment and message I got.  I had to stop doing that after about 40,000 subscribers because it would take 4+ hours to respond to everything.  YouTube has been the reason for so many of the best moments in my life so far.  I’ve met so many amazing people that when I really stop to think about it… I just cannot control my emotions.  There are so many things that viewers don’t always see about YouTube content creators.  A lot of people want to point fingers and call some people fake or in it for the wrong reasons, but I’m very lucky.  I think people can tell that I am a genuinely good person. Or maybe not, I can be kind of mean to video game characters because they do not have feelings.  I swear, I’m a really caring and nice person though!  I’m this weird mix of awkward, sarcastic, and nice so it usually just results in silliness.

10. Out of all your series', which is the most fun to play?
Recently I have been loving doing the dating stuff on Grand Theft Auto 4.  Actually all dating sims!  I just love playing them.  They really make me laugh and rage all at the same time.  My friend and I are considering creating our own Dating Simulator.  We are in the planning process!  Hopefully it goes well because we have some cool ideas.  I have no idea when that would happen though.

11. Poppo Dog or Poppy Cat?
Poppy Cat forever and always!

12. Are you looking forward to the next and final Sims 3 expansion pack, Into The Future?
Yes!  It actually seems really different than the typical expansion packs.  I’m currently thinking of some series ideas instead of doing a typical Let’s Play.  Who knows, maybe we can send Grace and Trip into the future! Hah!  Better not, the people of the future would not take kindly to the complaining that Grace and Trip do.

13. And finally...will Kelly Kpopp be revived to populate for The Sims 4?
It is a possibility!  If the Sims 4 ends up being super similar to the Sims 3 than I probably would not do another Pregnant Challenge.  Or if I did, it would be much shorter!

Interview : SeventhPlumbob

Surprise time! Popular community member, blog runner and tweeter Seventh Plumbob agreed to so an interview with us! From his opinionated blogs to his charismatic tweets, he is a well known community member! Check out our interview below and his blog!

1. So, how did you originally get into the Sims franchise!
I was quite young when The Sims came out and my parents couldn't afford a computer for me, but my mum bought The Sims and played it on the family computer. I would pull up a chair and watch, and occasionally she'd actually let me play (she was, like me, very overprotective with her Sims games!).

Interview : ThePinkPlumbob101

Alot of you guys will of heard of ThePinkPlumbob101, a dedicated simmer and Let's Player that has over 250 subscribers on YouTube and comes off really charming and relaxed in her Let's Plays!

1. So, how did you originally get into the Sims franchise?
Okay this is a little weird but this girl all the way from Belarus comes to stay with my family every summer. A few years ago she asked if I had any Sim games. I didn't (unfortunately) and asked her what it was about and everything like that. A little while later I got The Sims 2 for my birthday.

1. Can you tell us the story of how you got into the Sims franchise?
I was introduced to The Sims by my neighbour not too long after the game was originally released. She would buy each expansion pack as they were released and I would play them with her at her house. My parents later bought my brother and I the base game and Unleashed, which we played until I got The Sims 2 base game. From there, I've just progressed onto later games as they've been released.

Gamescom 2013 Pictures!

So the wonderful @SimTasticworld on Twitter had the amazing chance to go to Gamescom and meet loads of simmers and play with The Sims 4 CAS! Check out some of her Gamescom pics below! 1. So, how did you originally get into the Sims franchise!
My older brother used to play the Sims 1 when I was younger. Some of my fondest memories were playing The Sims with him. I still remember to this day making our family and then "accidentally" killing my little brother in a fire.

Interview : SimGuruOnion

After "Onion-gate" in July's first Sims Live Broadcast, a new and popular SimGuruOnion took the stage and more importantly was revealed to the simming nation! I got the exclusive interview below!

1. So Ryan made the onion slip, is it true that you are actually his secret lover?
I certainly was Ryan's secret lover! The secret is out now and we got married just hours after the Sims live broadcast! Our wedding video is available on YouTube here. We tried to keep it a secret because the world is so harsh and judgemental  "Why would a man fall in love with an onion?" they would say. To which I respond, it's because we're a beautiful and loving couple.

Interview : PixelSims

Another on the rise YouTube channel, PixelGaming is a British gamer who adds the British humour to his videos which makes for fun times! Read my Interview with him below!

1. So, how did you originally get into the Sims franchise!
This is a bit of a long story, but as a kid I often spent a week at my cousins house in the summer holidays. It was here that I first played The Sims 2. I was addicted almost instantly! At the time I had no access to a personal computer -only the family one- so I had to play the game through other means, aka the PS2. This went on for a while, until for Christmas '10 when I got a Laptop, two days after that the Sims 3 was installed onto my computer, and I haven't stopped playing since.
